This project was a small remodel that grew to be a redo of the whole house. The idea was an easy comfortable beach home habitable by humans, dogs and cats. The clients love color and whimsy, which allowed us a lot of leeway to create something special for them. The concept was to bring the outside in. The kitchen features blue/green concrete counter tops with cabinets done in a cream base and aqua blue inlay and hardware of different colors randomly placed on doors and drawers. The staircase was originally a circular metal system and was replaced with wood stairs that allow the animals up and down without fear of falling – people too! We had fun with sea creature appliqués – guaranteed to make you smile. Check out the fireplace chimney that we covered with copper and the bamboo floor, so easy to maintain and hard-wearing for all those four legged friends.
